Weekly Update - Another good weekend in glorious weather, with wins all across the board…

Mon, 22 Sep 2025, 09:57

AGM Tomorrow Night:

I would like to encourage all members to attend the Annual General Meeting if possible as it’s crucial to understand the current status of the club and to have a say in it’s future. The meeting starts at 7:30 Tuesday night and the bar will be open for refreshments.

A Strong Performance from our Women’s Side in Pre-season Friendly:

Our new women’s team had a pre-season friendly on Saturday morning against Phoenix. A very strong performance from the opening whistle, both teams brought energy, determination and plenty of smiles to the pitch. We scored a number of tries and are looking well prepared for our first competitive match in two weeks time.

1st XV Win at Windsor but at a Cost:

A bonus point win on Saturday away against Windsor, which with 10 points from a possible 15 in our first three matches isn’t a bad return. A strong performance up front laid the platform for the backs to score some impressive tries.

However, despite the match being played in good spirits, the result was somewhat spoiled with three red cards and a number of yellows. Two of the reds were received by us, the first was from two yellows to the same player, and in the final minutes a straight red for a high tackle. This places the whole club under pressure this early in the season as a total of six reds in a season results in a club-wide sanction. Clearly discipline is something we need to focus on throughout the club.

No matches this coming weekend allowing some sore bodies to recover for our next block of four matches on the bounce.

Welcome BBQ:

With the sun shining, yesterday was our official welcome BBQ day for the minis. The numbers keep growing with over 250 children from U5 to U12s. Sunday 19th October is our home festival, so save the date and anyone willing to volunteer for BBQ, or parking/pitch assistance please contact either Tina or Jim on minischair@beaconsfieldrfc.uk

Junior Wins:

Not only did the senior Mens and Women’s teams win over the weekend, the U14s beat Chesham in their first match of the season and the U16s beat Drifters in a league match. Both matches were well contested and bodes well for the season ahead.

WWRC Final:

Looking forward we have the World Cup Final, England vs Canada this Saturday at 4pm shown live at the club. Should be a cracking match with Canada hitting form at the exact right moment. There is also a Bandits match on at home at 2pm, so get down to enjoy some fun rugby and a few drinks.

Next 1st XV Home match is Oxford Quins:

Finally October 4th we have Oxford Quins at home. For anyone interested in attending the lunch, details will be published tomorrow.
