BRFC on BBC News (Again):
Our ladies team have had massive exposure in the past month with no less than two appearances on national BBC news. In preparation for the Women’s World Cup Final we had reporters down interviewing Charlotte Wright, our ladies captain and the team. They all came across brilliantly and are a credit to the club. Watch out Gabby Logan!

AGM:

Youngest Ever Senior Home Grown Ref:
Senan Conway made his senior debut on Saturday, reffing the 3rd XV fixture at home. A fantastic achievement for the young man who according to all accounts more than held his own with some grizzly and hardened players to deal with. His only blemish was giving a penalty against Kwongy, who apparently was completely innocent…..!!!
Our games clearly wouldn’t happen without refs and Senan taking this additional route is a brilliant example to others, stepping up to the challenge. We are very proud of Senan’s achievements and a very well done to him.
3rd XV:
Our 3rd XV had their first match of the season against Marlow, winning well. One of our aspirations this season is to secure regular fixtures for the 3rd XV ensuring we give all players opportunities to play but crucially, a pathway for youth players into senior rugby. It was a great friendly and thanks to Marlow for the match. More fixtures to follow!
Impressive Win for Colts Away vs Banbury:
Despite the long journey on a Sunday morning our Colts had a fantastic away league win against a historically strong Banbury side, winning 19-27. Congratulations to both Henry Terrell & Johnny Goss for their man of the match performances.
Big Weekend of Rugby Ahead:
Next weekend sees three senior matches, the 1st XV at home vs Oxford Quins, 2nd XV away against a strong Maidenhead side (both KO 3pm) and crucially the Women’s first ever league match on Sunday 5th October, kick off at 2:30pm against Aylesbury. We have had a number of major milestones recently with the women’s team but this is very much another. Over our history this is our first ever competitive women’s match, so if you are around please come down to support the team.
