Friday Night Under the Lights:
Our Bandits side had a match vs Risborough on Friday night, which was a great affair, played in appropriately good spirits, ending in a draw 14-14. Post match the teams and supporters were entertained in the bar by the Hole in the Wall band, who are well known to many members!
1st XV Win A Proper Battle vs London Grasshoppers:
On Saturday the 1st XV came up against a strong Grasshoppers side in their splendid new ground and facilities. The lead changed hands a number of times and in a match we could have easily lost, we showed huge resilience and game management skills to close out the win, final score 33-37. Some really strong performances from throughout the side in a really disciplined performance and and special thanks to our supporters, who again showed up in huge numbers.
A weeks break now for both senior mens sides before a home double header on February 14th against London Irish and A&C 2nd XV, who are challenging us for top spot in the league. Proper mouth watering stuff and the lads will be 100% focused on these matches.
Sunday Rugby:
In a fairly wet and muddy Sunday we hosted Marlow for a number of age groups, with the remaining mini sides away at Marlow. Thankfully the worst of the weather held off until post midday. The hot dogs and hot chocolates were a welcomed relief post training.
U14s - lost a cup match to A&C who proved far too strong on the day, winning 50-0. The U14s are a solid side, good coaches and players and will undoubtedly rebuild for next season.
Pitch Management:
One our biggest challenges, especially at this time of the season, is management of the pitches. The water levels are clearly quite high and we haven’t had a prolonged dry spell since early December. A lot of the senior midweek training recently has been held off site, to save the first team pitch in particular. One key project for us is the investigation of new floodlights to reduce the footfall on the main pitch. Hopefully more news to follow on this before the season ends.
Club 200 Winners:
This months Club 200 winners were: 1st Peter Parsons £150, 2nd Kwong £50 & 3rd Simon Bennet £25. This draw provides vital funds towards capital projects, the next being the purchase of new floodlights. To join this monthly draw please click on this link:

Six Nations All Live:
The Six Nations kick off this Thursday evening with France hosting Ireland in Paris, kick off 20:10. Not a match I’m too optimistic about, however should still be a cracker. All matches are on live down the club, including Saturdays Wales England match. We have two new 80 inch TVs to watch in high definition, alongside the other TVs and large screen, where Clinton will be waiting to serve you some nice creamy pints. If that doesn’t entice you I am not sure what will.
One Can Trust - Mens Clothes Collection Sunday 8th:
As you know we are partnering the local One Can Trust in Wycombe and have recently held a number of children clothing collections. Next Sunday they have informed us that they would really appreciate some mens casual clothing. The men they help are often homeless, or living in hostels or in a number of instances, in their cars. They have a real need for items like, polo shirts and long sleeve tops (not collared shirts); joggers; hoodies, trainers, pyjamas and basics (socks, base layers, & underwear). There will be some tables left out in the main clubhouse on Sunday for any donations for what is clearly a worthwhile cause.
Six Nations always heralds the start of Spring and hopefully some improvements in the weather!
Thanks as always for your ongoing support
