Weekly Update - A relatively quiet weekend at the club….

Mon, 23 Feb 2026, 11:59

Whilst no senior matches on Saturday, the focus was on a number of junior matches this weekend. I was also asked not to mention the significant Ireland win on Saturday, so I have decided not to give it any air time and not cover it at all, not even once….

Junior Matches:

The U13s beat Farringdon convincingly at home which means they top their pool and as a result are now playing in the Oxford Cup final vs Oxford Quins on 22nd March. A fantastic outcome for this impressive squad. What was equally impressive was seeing the boys, all smartly dressed in their white shorts and ties, presenting their man of the match awards afterwards. Both sides spoke well and its great see these young lads turn into young men. Well done everyone involved.

The U14s had a convincing win against Aylesbury, 42-0. In tough conditions the boys adapted well and played some really good rugby.

The U16s had a tough match vs Maidenhead. Maidenhead had to lend us a few players to allow us to be at full compliment. The match was competitive until half time, but then Maidenhead pulled away.

The Colts continued their fine run with a dominant win against Shipston in their penultimate league match. In a much changed side it was particularly pleasing to see a number of lads play their first match for the club this season, some due to injuries and some due to the conclusion of school rugby.

Comedy Night:

We still have tickets left to sell for the comedy night next Friday night, the 27th.
