Weekly Update - Minis Tournament next Sunday - Help Needed….

Mon, 02 Mar 2026, 10:35

Mini Tournament:

One of the clubs biggest days is next Sunday, the 8th, with our minis tournament. We have 1,200 boys and girls playing in one of the biggest tournaments in the region. Two requests to members please:

Firstly parking will be a significant challenge as we are not expecting the Hall Barn 4x4 field to be available due to the recent poor weather. So we need to ask all coaches and supporters to please cycle, walk or if you really must drive, then car share as we are expecting parking spaces to be stretched to capacity.

Secondly Tina and Jim, our joint mini chairs, are still looking for volunteers to help run the event. If you have 1-2 hours spare next Sunday please reach out - email - minischair@beaconsfieldrfc.uk

1st XV Lose to Old Priorians:

The 1st XV lost on Saturday to Old Priorians, 32-30, with OPs scoring in the corner in the last play. In only their third loss of the season, the match was incredibly tight with the lead changing hands a number of times. We won at home by a single score earlier in the season and this was always going to be a close run match. It was a very combative match and we couldn’t quite take our chances to see out the game. We remain in 2nd place in the league but with some tough fixtures to finish off the season before any possible play off matches.

Ladies Win vs A&C and Phoenix:

Our ladies team, the Panthers, had a double header yesterday against A&C and Phoenix, away in Amersham and delighted to state that not only did they win both matches but they didn’t concede a point in either. Scores were Phoenix 38-0 and A&C 26-0. It really is a tremendous first competitive season for our ladies team - well done to the whole squad, coaches and management.

Minis & Junior Matches:

Our minis U7s to U11s enjoyed the A&C mini festival yesterday, in what sounds like a great success all round.

The U16s got a walkover in their semi final and will now play in the Bucks Plate final at home on Sunday 22nd March, in what should be a cracking weekend.

The U13s juggernaut continues with both sides winning their matches over Hertford.

Comedy Night:

A huge thanks to Zoe Crone for organising the comedy night and to our Sponsors The Old Bengal for providing the food. The feedback from the event was excellent and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone there.

Matches Next Weekend:

Its top of the table Brunel Uni, versus ourselves in 2nd next Saturday at home in what should be a cracker of a match. Brunel are in effect Ealing Trailfinders Academy and are a serious outfit. The result on Saturday will undoubtedly have a major say on the outcome of the league. Kick off is 2:30 and please come down to support the squad. If anyone wants to attend the prematch lunch we have a few seats left to sell but ticket sales will close Tuesday at 6pm. To buy click on this link:

Unfortunately the 2s match versus Henley 3s has been cancelled as Henley have had to drop out of the league. We are currently trying to find an alternative friendly fixture.

Club 200 Winners for February:

Congratulations to Mark Philips (1st with £150), Laurence Sargent (2nd £50) and Richard Gommo (3rd with £25) for their winnings. If anyone wants to join the monthly draw, please click on this link: raffle.beaconsfieldrfc.uk

Charity Quiz Night - 27th March

Finally there is a quiz night in aid of Alzheimer’s Society on Friday 27th March. Anyone interested in attending please purchase tickets via this link:

The sun has finally come out to play - enjoy every minute whilst it lasts!

Weekly Update - A relatively quiet weekend at the club….
Whilst no senior matches on Saturday, the focus was on a number of junior matches this weekend. I was also asked not to mention the significant Ireland win on Saturday, so I have decided not to give it any air time and not cover it ...
Weekly Update - Another Barnstorming Weekend
The sun was shinning for what seemed the first time this year and the clubhouse was buzzing both pre and post match on Saturday. Definitely right up there in one of the top days we have had in many a year, with the rugby on display,...
