Introducing President Elect - Mike Hall

Fri, 29 Aug 2025, 09:10

BEACONSFIELD RUGBY : A CLUB FOR OUR TIME

Beaconsfield Rugby Football Club has come a very long way in 73 years. From an idea inspired by Jack Hickman who, having moved into the town, was dismayed to discover there was no rugby club, to what we see today, is truly remarkable.

My own particular journey in the game began as a nine-year-old at Davenies School and along with a number of contemporaries I went on in later life to wear the green and gold of BRFC. Incidentally, its fantastic to see that the school continues to be a major supporter through sponsorship of our club.

The list of those who trod a similar path of transition from school days to this club is impressive. Many have contributed in no small measure over the years to help shape the club’s success and many continue to do so. Some have gone on to spread the word around the world, notably in Canada, South Africa and Australia! To you all, and to our growing band of supporters and highly valued sponsors, we thank you!

And what of the future? First up I must say that I am honoured to be your President and much look forward to flying the Beaconsfield RFC flag not just on our home patch but throughout the County and beyond.

Noel O’Mahony, our new Chairman Elect, has made clear his hopes and aspirations for the coming seasons and the new Committee is excited to make them happen. Make no mistake, Beaconsfield RFC is now a big club; a significant Community Club with all the responsibility that this carries locally and within the RFU. Above all it is one club and proud to be so.

First League Lunch - 13th September

So, let’s get the 25/26 season off to a great start both on and off the field of play. The first League Lunch prior to the 1st XV’s opening home match against local rivals Marlow will take place on Saturday, 13th September. It should be a belter! Full details will be circulated by the club in the next few days.

I very much look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on this occasion and during the coming season.

Enjoy!

Vestigia Nulla Retrorsum!
